Who?
Limerick Toastmasters are people just like you who have a desire to improve their communication skills, influence people effectively and become better leaders. Limerick Toastmasters have been helping people to improve their communication and leadership skills for over 26 years.
What?
Limerick Toastmasters is a non-profit club which gives its members the opportunity to develop and improve their public speaking and leadership skills through participating in and organising club meetings.
Why?
Effective communication skills are the most important skills that we can master. Through Limerick Toastmasters you can:-
Overcome your fear of speaking in public
Improve your overall communication skills
Learn to influence people effectively
Become a better leader
Learn to run a meeting effectively
How?
At Limerick Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a friendly and supportive environment.
A meeting lasts two hours. Various members present speeches that they have prepared from the Toastmaster International Manuals. A more experienced member is assigned to give their opinion on what was done effectively and how they might improve in the future. This is not a criticism. The evaluation focuses on:
-
What was done right
-
What could be improved
When?
Meetings are held at the Perys Hotel, Glentworth Street, Limerick (click on "Directions" in the Main menu) on alternate Mondays of each month excluding bank holidays, from September to June. Registration is from 7:45pm. Meeting starts at 8:00pm sharp and finishes at 10:00pm. Click on "Club Calendar" in the Main Menu for dates of meetings and events, during the rest of this season.
